Leave a Voice Mail on a Cell Phone without Calling

I was just reading about a new service that is in Beta for cell phone users. It is called Slydial and lets you leave a message on a cellular user's voicemail without calling their cell phone.

I read this in an AP story ( press release in action?) that I got in a news alert.

This got me thinking. I was already doing this for free YEARS ago, right from my own voicemail. I do not know if this is still the case or if it was only for other Verizon Wireless customers, but I recall checking my own voicemail and being given the option to leave a voice mail message for someone else. When prompted, I entered the phone number and their voice greeting would play.

I think I will test this later and report back. If this service is already standard, what is the point of using this company.

The Google phones by Samsung- Android?

Endgadget has news of 2 New Samsung phones being built for Google for use on the Android platform.

According to the article's sources/tipsters, there will b 2 new phones. They will not be branded Samsung. Instead they will be labeled "Google" phones and Android-based. The first higher end phone will be similar to a Blackberry. A cheaper model will be available later.

Interesting.

Verizon Wireless: Outstanding Service for Long-term Customers

On a personal note, I must say that I have been very happy with Verizon Wireless for about 8 years now ( I had the service when it was Bell Atlantic Mobile in my region). I have never had any issues with the service, and my phones have always been reliable. I usually sell my used phones on eBay and get as much or more than I paid out of pocket when new.

I have taken advantage of the "New Every Two" deal to Upgrade My Cell Phone several times, most recently last summer. I have also found that the customer service reps are very friendly and will often offer special deals. They will work with you to get the best deal on their America's Choice calling plans and cellular phones.

Cellular Service Provider Discussion

The focus of this web site is the discussion of Cellular service providers and equipment. We will focus on major carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile- as well as local and regional providers. Services include traditional contract plans, prepaid, family, and business data services.

The mobile industry is always changing and the offers and providers change as well. Over the past year Cingular changed to AT&T and companies like Alltel began to market their services more aggressively.

While some might assume the cellular market is saturated, grow continues in the tens of millions year over year. Millions of others move to smartphones and data plans, international SIM cards, and other products that increase business and personal mobility.

It is an exciting time to be a provider or consumer of these services.
